💊 Between Medicine and People 32 | Antibacterial Everything?

A simple, round white character standing quietly with a blank expression. An illustration for Between Medicine and People, reflecting on antibacterial products and the difficulty of maintaining healthy habits.

Pens, socks, cutting boards.

Everything seems to be antibacterial these days.

Are we really that afraid of germs?

Our bodies already have natural defenses against harmful microorganisms.

Of course, we need to be more careful when our immune defenses are weakened.

Medicine isn’t all-powerful, either. Antibiotic-resistant bacteria are a growing concern.

So, rather than just keeping germs away, taking care of our bodies matters too.

Get enough sleep. Eat well. Don’t overdo it.

…We know all that.

But there’s work to do. And things we want to enjoy.

We end up pushing ourselves too hard.

Different cultures. Different foods. Different lifestyles.

Yet perhaps the struggle to maintain healthy habits is something we share around the world.

We know what we should do. But doing it isn’t easy.

Yes, that includes me. Haha!
