🍵Beauty & Taste| Tiramisu Torte at cafe BAHNHOF | A Delicious Detour at the End of My Osaka Journey | Osaka Loop Line #3

Date of visit: July 12, 2026 (Sunday)

The ginger pork set meal had been satisfying.

But…

the oil had won.

I thought a little walking might help settle my stomach, so I started making my way toward Osaka Station.

Around Oimatsu-dori

“I’d like to take a short break at a café.”

And, ideally, eat a good tiramisu.

But walking straight to the station somehow felt too dull.

So I took another detour.

Before I knew it, I was wandering around alone again.

A full-fledged travelling zombie.

Ha ha ha.

As I walked, an elegant-looking café caught my eye.

Peach tiramisu.

I stopped without thinking.

Then I looked for the price.

¥3,100.

“What?”

I had to look twice.

No, no.

Not today.

The lifestyle of the wealthy was still a little too advanced for me.

With a sigh, I started walking again.

The competitive eater is strong when it comes to rice.

But…

the budget becomes much stricter when dessert is involved.

Or rather,

for some reason, I become especially careful with money when it comes to sweets.

A mystery indeed.

Ha ha ha.

Around Osaka Station

I made it back to Osaka Station.

Perhaps this would be the end of the day.

That was what I thought.

If I took JR, the Special Rapid Service would carry me home in no time.

If I took the Hanshin Railway, the atmosphere would feel a little more down-to-earth.

On days when the Tigers are playing, the energy becomes overwhelming.

But today felt slightly different.

I had dressed up for a day out on my day off.

I wanted to keep that feeling until the very end.

So I decided to take the Hankyu Railway home.

I headed toward the ticket gates.

Then, just before reaching them,

I suddenly went downstairs.

Hankyu Sanbangai.

“Just for a little while.”

That final detour led to the last encounter of the day.

Expectations at their highest.
This tiramisu torte did not disappoint.

“Oh.”

Tiramisu.

They have it.

Tiramisu torte.

I’m going in.

There was no hesitation.

I ordered the tiramisu torte and a blended coffee.

Tiramisu torte: ¥850

Blended coffee: ¥800

A ¥150 discount when ordered as a set.

Normally, I might have paused at those prices.

But…

I had just seen a ¥3,100 tiramisu.

Suddenly, ¥850 seemed remarkably reasonable.

Human perception is a strange thing.

Tiramisu Torte and Coffee

I took a bite.

Not too sweet.

Slightly bitter.

A grown-up flavor.

It was not simply sweet.

The flavors seemed to overlap in several layers, making me think:

“They must have put a lot of thought into this.”

It was that kind of tiramisu.

It paired beautifully with the coffee as well.

This was Umeda, after all.

An intensely competitive area packed with cafés and restaurants.

At this level of quality, the price felt justified.

Of course,

I also love the simple tiramisu served at Italian restaurants.

This is not about deciding which one is better.

Today,

at the end of a long day of walking,

this tiramisu torte was exactly right.

Now,

I could finally go home without regrets.

Work would begin again tomorrow.

Another week was about to start.

Osaka never lets me walk exactly according to plan.

But when I take a detour,

I often find something unexpected.

That is the kind of city it is.

And that is why I want to walk through it again.

Dinner that day came after skipping both breakfast and lunch and finally rushing into a set-meal restaurant.

Even though the oil defeated me a little, I still enjoyed a very Osaka-style meal.
