🍵Beauty & Taste| A Cafe Break at Akashi Station with Awaji Island Lemon Cake

Visit date: September 19, 2026 (Saturday) — Sunny

I’m back at Akashi Station.
Now, where should I take a break?

A little break after Akashiyaki

I wandered around Uonotana for quite a while, looking for lunch at 3 PM.

Eventually, I found Takoiso Annex.

I had some piping-hot Akashiyaki.

It was delicious, but it was a light lunch.

I still had a little room left.

This wasn’t a full-day trip.

Just a little outing to Akashi.

And yet, I ended up walking more than expected just looking for lunch.

Now,

I want to sit down and take a proper break.

So I headed to Piole Akashi at Akashi Station.

My destination was a cafe I had been curious about for a while:

Mother Moon Cafe Piole Akashi.

Oh? I can get in today

I had seen people waiting outside when I passed by before.

But this time, there were a few empty seats.

I can get in now.

No waiting. Straight inside.

A little later, though, I looked around and the cafe was full.

Looks like my timing was just right.

There are fancy cakes, but…

Now, what should I have?

There were some beautiful, eye-catching cakes.

But today,

I just want a simple cafe break.

So I chose the

Awaji Island Lemon Cake.

And to drink,

Earl Grey tea.

I’m in Akashi, eating a lemon cake from Awaji Island.

It almost feels as if the lemon has popped over from just across the sea.

That’s a lot of lemon

One bite.

Lemony. Very lemony.

It’s sweet.

But not too heavy.

After the sweetness comes a clear, refreshing lemon flavor.

After all that walking around looking for lunch at 3 PM, this was my next stop.

Lemon cake.

This is soothing.

It was just right for the tired end of summer.

Finally, I could relax with a cup of Earl Grey.

Akashi Castle beyond the window

From my window seat that day, I could see

the moat and turrets of Akashi Castle.

Lunch,

then a cafe break.

That’s all there was to this little trip.

But with Akashi Castle outside the window,

it suddenly feels like I really did go somewhere.

After finishing my cake, I opened my laptop and did a little work.

Eat, rest, work a little.

Thank you for the treat

Awaji Island Lemon Cake and Earl Grey.

Sweet, but not too heavy.

And most of all,

plenty of lemon.

A lovely little break at Akashi Station.

Thank you for the treat.
